Cut 50 type Plasma cutter from Amazon .
Always wanted one for the shop.
Doing as much fabrication that I do I have found cutting to be the most time consuming part of the builds.
Finally came . 50amp rated . It will good enough to cut up to1/4" material .Plasma cutters can cut aluminum copper too .
Un boxing . Feels like getting a gift lol.
Came with all the hardware to hook it up . Running lines to water separator.
They sent a good amount of hose . Air hose nipple was the only thing from shop supplies needed.
The instructions where not very well done . The S dial is for how long the air stays on after a cut. Will save on consumable wear ( business end tip shroud etc.)
No settings for metal gauges in instructions so
I contacted Hector at Hectors shop for ideas .
I went with suggested set up, air at 70 psi and amps to 50.
It's a good base line for me to practice with .
Using any strait edge made for good lines. Just a matter of going the right speed and adjustments .
pretty surprised how quick it was compared to cut of wheel or torch. slag knocks of easy .
Big Build coming up so will see how it goes .
Great tip . Notching out a speed square makes the tip slide by evenly.
Getting better after about 10 minutes . Thicker stuff here looks pretty good.
Dialed in for the sheet steel. crazy fast cut and excellent result here. Looks like it was sheered .
Time patience and practice will make this a fantastic tool for the shop . I can also cut out old welds with it to .
