Tx gator starter /gen issues

We are running 8 of the TX gators since 2015.

usually when they act up I just clean them and install new brushes.

Once in a while I get on that the field frame has broken wire or plates to connections.

Broken and toasted wire

and broke copper bar. Which I've tried soldering in the past but doesn't hold for long .

John Deere do not sell the parts for them other than the brushes.
But Club Car do.
So I decided to try it and see
Same starter b/ gen basically but wire locations are a bit different.
Just pay attension which wires go where. they are all labeled the same F1 etc.

so far so good.
It's been out all morning.
<200 $ is better tghan >700$ Canadian for a new one .

Toro 5800 sonic boom sensor moved right side

Oh yes the classic  right side sonic boom repair .

I've been thinking of how to avoid this issue with no luck.

Looking at it again I found a solution so simple it boggle my mind lol

For some reason we'll break the mount 2 to 4 times a season.
Somtimes the boom break away bolts are stripped or need adjustment causing it to flop around breaking the mount on the other boom .
or wrong sequence putting booms up .

So I decided to flip the brackets to the back side of the boom/
We run covered booms here so I'm not to worrried from the drift messing up the sensor.
By the looks of them I dont think it would matter there coated up with various chemical  stains.

flipping brackets over to get same orintation as when they where mounted on the front side .

Excellent !!

Try to smack that off now.

I'll update If we have any issues .

John Deer 7400 A Terraine cut steering issue

I've replaced the bushings in both units in the past 2 years.

This season I noticed one had some steering to the right and to much left ?

hmm steering shaft was keyed so I didn't pay much attention to location parts.

Although the steering shaft looks to only go on one way, it does not.

I lay the parts out on bench the way they come off but when your waiting on parts I must have shuffed them around a few times .

centering ram and found wheel was way off.

This steering arm had to be flipped upside down.

Now looking at it makes sense where it's at an angle to steering shaft .

Was an easy fix for a change lol

Looks normal now.

And yes the tires balding. It's done intensionally to keep turf damage to a minimium from over zealous operater on tee deck / green  surrounds.

Club Car President 2015 rear bumper replacement

More Club Car repairs that could have been avoided before leaving the barn.

90% of issues I repair start at the cart barn or poor/or no battery maintanance.

Batteries should last 3-6 years .

8-9 seasons in and replaced more batterries well pretty much all by now twice some 3 times and some do to lack of enthusaism from Cart barn staff .

lack of maintaining batteries cost $$$$$$ not to mention the hit the cart infront of you in the cart barn to stop!!

8-9 years in had provided info many times to a point that nothing has changed.

I give up .

Some video and pictures for removeing rear bumper below.

Yep might as well clean these up first this ones not to bad.

check torque on nuts

clean battery tops

seal terminals

I removed all these before starting. 2 on side bumber and rear motor access

remove the old style canopy

New style just 2 bolts.

remove ant accessories

pick of seat backrest alighnment pins

These 2 bolts are for bag rack and holds down new style bag covers

used the tripods to hold back of canopy up

the long screws hold the canopy arms

pull remaining part straight off

if you snap one of theses alignment pins off it's ok just make sure the front hole is lined up

Remove these brackets that hold eevrything together

after new bumper is installed you will need to redrill holes

to get the body skirt of the switch has to be removed along with 4 bots in seat frame area

pic of wiring orientation

once the skins off you can remove remaining bolts in picks below to get old bumper off.

These ones are on the outside of rear shackle area

when installing new part ,tip forward and you might have to pull out on sides to get it to slide inside front section then care full tip it back .

give it a good cleaning so new part goes on easier

Thought of blogging on it after the fact . Look it over and you'll figure it out.

after the fifth one I'm done to a half hour from start to finish .
