John Deere 5055E Throttle cable install (cab)

Throttle cable recently snapped. Notice cable was pinched from the last time cab was removed for warrenty work .One brake line also had a kink and started to leak .

Pic below shows the cable I pulled out during trouble shooting .

There is no way to replace this cable with out either splitting tractor or removing the cab.

I'm not set up here to do either and went this route to repair .

Had to remove hood, air intake from turbo to filter and black metal trim piece by fire wall.

Foot throttle bracket was unbolted and also brake switch, back side of dash. This gave enough room to remove linkage from hand throttle. Now cut an access hole here. The angle cut is about 1/4 inch below steering boxed of area above cable you see here. Removed mount on engine side of firewall for this end of cable.

Window removed made for easy access to work area.

There  is no saving the press in spigot hose connections. Break them off so you can pull it out inside cab.

Just of to the right of my finger you can see the foot throttle mount removed. I don't understand enginers. This could have been an easier fix if tab was placed here instead ?

Save old cut out piece to make an access cover

Perfect, that will do.

New cable in and sealer applied to panel. This job involves a lot of tight spaces to get everything in. Take your time and breaks and it will go good .

New brake line installed and a little trick to keep nut from sliding down under the tractor.

When installing cable thread it here first then route it to foot pedal tab.

Hand throttle linkage reconnected along with foot pedal bracket, just the brake switch left before installing brake pedal assembly.

Hook up all the lines. The hose spigots can"t be installed till its through the firewall. Only install the bottom two bolts till their put in.

This was a bit weird I had to take 5 spigots instead of 2 and 10 - O rings instead of 2. Dealer had to order these two items only came in bulk ? I'm starting to notice this trend lately. If it says two you should get two and not have to carry spares from the dealer !!

Make sure they are lined up right to hook up on hose. The right one had to be redone because you can't install the brake pedal asm  bolt. Had to put it more on a 45 .

All good now.

Reassemble everything that was removed and bleed the brakes after it ran at idle for a while. Brake fluid is actually your Hydraulic fluid.
Tediouse but doable .
