Here is what it looks like undamaged. What happens is one or both spring ends break off.
Want to save yourself a few hundred dollars?
If the spring pins not broken remove the busted springs and replace with 2 rubber O rings .
Works great lasts a few seasons .
I have a little pic with a bent 90 to get them on easily.
6-7 cents worth of harware lol
